PHOTOGRAPHY

I am starting this blog because I want more than just myself to experience the feelings I get when I see these photos. Even if you're just beginning (like myself) or you have been mastering the skill for years, every picture tells a story. It's just how you look at it and perceive it. Photography to me is a whole new way of looking at the world.

First Photo Shoot

This is my beautiful roommate named Cynthia. She was my first photo shoot and while I have much to learn, these photos turned out wonderful. These were taken on the BYU Idaho campus and also at the BYU Idaho park. It was during the fall season so the leaves helped play a large role in some of these photos. I hope you like them.

For the photos by the tree and the stone arch, I used an editing tool that boosted the warmer colors around her to darken her hair (make it more golden) and to also make the light around her from the sun less harsh.

I like this pose against the stone arch. I had some earlier photos of her legs standing straight but the bend of the knee adds a more natural look. Then with her body at an angle instead of straight on, she loses some weight in her figure.

I like this photo because I took it from a higher elevation. I made her stick her chin out more to make it more angular.

I used an editing tool that made this photo look more "aged".

Her smile is wonderful in this photo.

I love the seriousness in her face. Especially the closeness to it which I feel increases the intensity.

This photo was taken with the sun from the background to make her hair glow. Then this light gives it a vintage look. I also had her not smile to increase the seriousness of this photo.

THE LEAVES. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO TAKE A PHOTO LIKE THIS AND NOW I HAVE. This has always been on my bucket list. With her choice of the red sweater, it contrasts well with the yellow leaves. Then with her dark brown hair and light red lipstick. I just love these photos so much. One of my favorites.
