PHOTOGRAPHY

I am starting this blog because I want more than just myself to experience the feelings I get when I see these photos. Even if you're just beginning (like myself) or you have been mastering the skill for years, every picture tells a story. It's just how you look at it and perceive it. Photography to me is a whole new way of looking at the world.

First Photo Shoot

This is my beautiful roommate named Cynthia. She was my first photo shoot and while I have much to learn, these photos turned out wonderful. These were taken on the BYU Idaho campus and also at the BYU Idaho park. It was during the fall season so the leaves helped play a large role in some of these photos. I hope you like them.

For the photos by the tree and the stone arch, I used an editing tool that boosted the warmer colors around her to darken her hair (make it more golden) and to also make the light around her from the sun less harsh.

I like this pose against the stone arch. I had some earlier photos of her legs standing straight but the bend of the knee adds a more natural look. Then with her body at an angle instead of straight on, she loses some weight in her figure.

I like this photo because I took it from a higher elevation. I made her stick her chin out more to make it more angular.

I used an editing tool that made this photo look more "aged".

Her smile is wonderful in this photo.

I love the seriousness in her face. Especially the closeness to it which I feel increases the intensity.

This photo was taken with the sun from the background to make her hair glow. Then this light gives it a vintage look. I also had her not smile to increase the seriousness of this photo.

THE LEAVES. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO TAKE A PHOTO LIKE THIS AND NOW I HAVE. This has always been on my bucket list. With her choice of the red sweater, it contrasts well with the yellow leaves. Then with her dark brown hair and light red lipstick. I just love these photos so much. One of my favorites.

Leaves With the Sun

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." - Einstein

I love this picture because of the sun through the tree! I made the colors more vibrant to show the colors of the leaves better with the sun behind them.

Fall BYU Idaho 2014

The clouds were out and the weather was perfect to take some good pictures of the leaves. Most of these were taken on campus.

I really like the angle in this photo and the detail on the trunk of the tree.

Bishop's Youth Retreat

These photos were taken while I was out for a "bishop's youth retreat" with my church. The weather was great and the clouds were perfect models for my camera.

Photos of clouds are always fun to do. These clouds look the way they do because I used an editing tool. With on click and your clouds can look like this too!

I love how the background is black and white and the shoes are the only things with color.

New York

I went to Carnegie Hall in New York for a choir concert during my senior year in High School. I got some amazing pictures of New York. There were tons of things to see and the city itself was amazing.

This is a wonderful picture of the city at night from the top of a building. I enhanced the lights of the city to make them more eye-popping.
