PHOTOGRAPHY

I am starting this blog because I want more than just myself to experience the feelings I get when I see these photos. Even if you're just beginning (like myself) or you have been mastering the skill for years, every picture tells a story. It's just how you look at it and perceive it. Photography to me is a whole new way of looking at the world.

Train Graffiti

I loved this photo shoot. My friend and I were just walking around exploring this small town of Rexburg, Idaho and happened to stumble upon some railroad tracks with a train that looked like it hadn't been moved in YEARS. On this train was a ton of graffiti. Art... everywhere. I enjoyed the chance to capture this moment. The creativity from others is always an eye opening experience.

Using the rule of thirds in this photo ;) Keeping the subject to the right of the frame (or to the left) is more eye appealing than shooting them dead center.

The one on the bottom has no filter but I loved the filter on the top shot. Kind of gave the photo an antique look.

This is a shot of underneath the railroad track those goes over a river.

First shot of the train. The angle I used shows how long the train is. Depth of field here :)

My favorite kind of photos to take of people are when they don't expect it and the look on their face is genuine. Unplanned... the best.

One thing I like about graffiti is the colors that are used. Notice in these photos how bright everything is. You really need to know how to use colors when you're doing this because colors add so much. Mood especially. I loved the art!

OH MY GOODNESS. The colors in this one are just so BRIGHT.

I love the the writing I found on the train... this is how life is sometimes. Just a spurr of the moment :)

The night sky burst upon this train. I love the bright yellow with the bright blue. Amazing contrast.

I STUMBLED UPON THE TOM AND JERRY CARTOON CHARACTERS. I was honestly so excited when I saw these.

I used the rule of thirds in this photo like the one farther above this. Except this time, the main focus is on the left of the shot. God Bless America

I like how this graffiti makes it look the person is crying. The mood is quite dark. Gray and sad.

Haha... is this person supposed to represent someone from Colorado or Washington?

First Photo Shoot

This is my beautiful roommate named Cynthia. She was my first photo shoot and while I have much to learn, these photos turned out wonderful. These were taken on the BYU Idaho campus and also at the BYU Idaho park. It was during the fall season so the leaves helped play a large role in some of these photos. I hope you like them.

For the photos by the tree and the stone arch, I used an editing tool that boosted the warmer colors around her to darken her hair (make it more golden) and to also make the light around her from the sun less harsh.

I like this pose against the stone arch. I had some earlier photos of her legs standing straight but the bend of the knee adds a more natural look. Then with her body at an angle instead of straight on, she loses some weight in her figure.

I like this photo because I took it from a higher elevation. I made her stick her chin out more to make it more angular.

I used an editing tool that made this photo look more "aged".

Her smile is wonderful in this photo.

I love the seriousness in her face. Especially the closeness to it which I feel increases the intensity.

This photo was taken with the sun from the background to make her hair glow. Then this light gives it a vintage look. I also had her not smile to increase the seriousness of this photo.

THE LEAVES. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO TAKE A PHOTO LIKE THIS AND NOW I HAVE. This has always been on my bucket list. With her choice of the red sweater, it contrasts well with the yellow leaves. Then with her dark brown hair and light red lipstick. I just love these photos so much. One of my favorites.
